Located just four city blocks from vibrant downtown and only 1 mile from the beach, Lake Ida spans north from Lake Ida Road on the west side of historic Swinton Avenue, approximately 2 miles. This neighborhood features a mix of single family and large estate homes. Many homes feature swimming pools, large lots, and mature landscaping. Each home is unique and while some owners have chosen to preserve the style of their homes, others have built gorgeous new homes inspired by old Florida charm. There are also many estate homes located on the eastern shoreline of the lake which have boat docks for added recreational enjoyment.
Living in the Lake Ida neighborhood you will enjoy its’ natural beauty, close proximity to downtown, the beach, and its’ many parks located within the neighborhood. Lake Ida is also home to the highly acclaimed Delray Beach Playhouse. Nestled in one of the recreational parks, this community theater has an active calendar, and hosts many events for all ages. You can also enjoy great community theater productions of Broadway show performances by local actors. The Delray Playhouse gives me special memories, because I was an actor in two musical performances; Cabaret and Irene.
Lake Ida is a community with a lot of character, that has so much to offer its residents and this is what makes it one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the city.
